Pupil Premium

In 2011-12 the Government launched its new 'Pupil Premium' funding. This money is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils in school that are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and also for looked after children. In 2012-13 it was expanded to include all children in school that have been eligible for FSM at any time within the last 6 years.

The money is used in school to support pupils to ensure they reach their full potential. This money has been allocated for the following :

  • Staff training to support Pupil Premium children.
  • Teaching assistants in all classes.
  • Teaching assistants to support focused small group learning.
  • To enhance life experiences through a variety of educational visits

The breakdown of the funding can be seen in the following Pupil Premium strategy statement below.

If you think your child may qualify for FSM, please contact the school office (in confidence) for an application form or click here. Even if you do not wish them to have FSM this would still mean that the school could claim the funding to help your child.
